A Proffessor, A Piggy Stash and My Blankie!

I was up with the larks this morning, and we were at the hospital in plenty of time for my appointment. I expected to have the usual hour and a half wait, but only 5 minutes after my appointment was due I was called in.

Normally, it's just Dr Loft, Mum and me. This time, I felt like a naughty schoolgirl. There in the room, was Dr Loft, the lovely chinese doctor who I met when I had my reaction to the Infliximab, and Sister Sonya. They all had pens and hospital headed notepaper in front of them, and had obviously been talking about me for a while before I went in there.

Dr Loft, as usual was lovely! He was really disappointed that I had reacted, and asked me how things had been since then. I was honest, I told him the HS was really bad, and mentioned the unusal "spots" I have on my neck. He asked to have a look, and the next thing I know all of us apart from Mum, are in the small examination room. Sister Sonya and Chinese Doc, looked a little shocked when they saw my scars and current wounds, including the HS. But Dr Loft, having seen it all only a fortnight before, agreed with me that the HS was worse.

The two men left, and Sister Sonya helped me to re arrange myself. She asked me how I coped with everything I had been through. I just smiled and said, "it's all down to hubby and Mum and Dad, without them I would have cracked years ago". She smiled and said I was lucky. If only she knew how lucky :)

Anyway, Dr Loft told us that he didn't want to bombard my system with loads of other drugs that I would more than likely react to as they were also TPN based like the Inflixi. He mentioned that Methotrexate might be an option, and said he wanted a 2nd opinion. I was given the option of being sent to a specialist in London or one in Birmingham. I chose Birmingham with it being nearer, and he told me I would be seing a Proffessor Bob Allen. A Proffessor!! who specialises in Crohn's and all of the diseases related to it. Wooooohooooo! I'm being spoilt!

So, I can ring and see Dr Loft whenever I need to, but no more appointments at the moment. I see Mr R on December 1st, I'm still awaiting an appointment for the dermatologist, and now I'm waiting on an appointment to see a Proffessor. I'll ask the question on the Crohn's Zone site and see if anyone else is being treated by him and what he's like.

Once I was home and settled watching Most Haunted from last night, hubby rang for an update. My 2 e bay purchases arrived. One of which I have yet to work out how to work! I have sent the person a message to see if they can help me LOL.

Blimey!! it's 6.30pm and hubby just called to say he was on his way home! Someone catch me I'm gonna faint!!! ;)

Anyway, I read Faith and Holli's blog tonight, saw the contents of the fridge, and decided to take some piccies. In Holli's fridge there is a "perfect man" cookie, and owl cookie and a little pig. Now this got me thinking. Someone (you know who you are) bought me 2 jelly piggy lollies about 3 years ago for my birthday, and I have kept one never to be eaten. So, there's a picture of that, a picture of the contents of my notice board, and again some of the items on there are very precious to me, and........a piccy of me snuggled up in my new blankie that my Mum made for me.

Enjoy the pics, and I'll blog soon.

Oh my gosh.. I love piglet - but when I saw your clip-on koala.. it just brought back such a rush of memories!! I used to be obsessed with those bears!! I had loads of them and would clip them all over myself. well, maybe only 4 or 5, but it seemed like a lot.. I LOVED THEM!!! I hope you feel better.. I hope the doctors have more answers for you soon. I love the "peekeye" pic of you under your blankie.

And thank you SO MUCH for sending me off to dreamland with my beloved little clip-on koalas floating in my mind.. what a great thought. I'm so happy!!!!

:)))))

And if I ever do make it to the Glastonbury festival - we will most definitely come visit you, if not bombard you with our presence!!!

HUGS!!!!!
