Yes Sir I Can Boogee!

Last week was filled with extra days of work, and visiting customers scattered all over the country including Ireland. I drove hire cars, flew on planes, got stuck in trafiic, but most of all, worked hard, and laughed hard.

Now it has all caught up with me, yesterday I managed 14 hours sleep!

I did however go out with SIL, I didn't want to go, but changed my mind and am so glad I did. It was a Salsa evening and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I've tried posting the video's on you tube but it won't let me, some wrong format or something, never mind.

There was five of us, plus another thirty odd people and the instructor. I joined in at the back, got annoyed that I couldn't see the instructors feet, movd to the front, then got too hot and decided to dance on the street outside where it was cooler. I also had more space, never mind the audience of cars driving past, I think it brightened their day!

I was annoyed with hubby when I found out he had only finished work at 10.30pm! And......he may have to work the weekend, planning in a barbecue with J and K.

I am still hooked on Facebook. It is such a good way to stay in touch with people and see how their day to day lives are going. However I have added two friends in Mallorca and that maks me sad :( Seeing their updates and pictures, glorious sunshine, people in the back ground of their photo's on holiday........only 8 weeks to go until we are back!!

Work otherwise seems to be falling apart at the seams in some ways. Thankfully we are really busy, but people are leaving :( Not on our team, no sir, I'm going to glue everyone to their seats, but it does mean going through the process of introducing someone new to he craziness of our office. I did ask if we could have a tall dark handsome man with a six pack, but I was told no drinking was allowed at work :(

Oh well........you may have noticed the link on here to my facebook page for the blog. Feel free to have a look, and of course if you know my name, feel free to add me on facebook. If you don't know my name and would like to know it, ask.......and I might tell :)

Love and hugs

There's a 1st Time For Everything!

Last August, I was one of 1200 people who booked a ticket to the Asylum 08 convention. It is a fan convention for people who watch, love, and adore the American tv show that is Supernatural. I was nervous and excited at the same time. I love the show, the writing, the storylines. It cleverly combines drama, folkelore, monsters such as vampires, shapeshifters, ghosts and suchlike, along with a slight comedic touch. It tells the story of two brothers who are "Hunters", they treck accross america saving innocent people from said monsters, whilst continuing their backstory of who killed their mother, one of their girlfriends, their father, and also holds a contract for one of teir souls, I could go on but....

The whole point of this is that this experience would be new to me. I was going with a friend, but that changed at the last minute, so, not only was I in completely new territory, but I was alone!

Anyway, hubby refused to take the ticket, and I completely understood, he hates American shows, and he wouldn't have known Sam from Dean, or indeed a Wendigo from a trickster, (I can tell immeditely!).

So off I went to register, alone and nervous. I arrived early, sat on a chair and watched in awe as most of the 1200 people milled around the hotel. I sat their and it dawned on me that ALL of the people that were there had one thing in common, The Show.

I worked up the courage to speak to the girl sat next to me. It was the best thing I did, she took me under her wing, showed me the ropes, told me not to join random queus just becuase it was a queue, and looked after me all weekend.

Thank you Emily!

After registering and getting my "pack" on the friday, I was raring to go on the Saturday. After all I was going to get autographs from 8 cast members! But it was oh so much more than that. Queuing for hours was worth every second when you got to the cast member at the front. They ALL took the time to speak to you, ask you questions, and show that they were enjoying the weekend as much as we were. My favourite was Jim Beaver who plays Bobby a surrogate father to the brothers. We all had to put our names on a post it note so that the person knew who to sign for. And Sis In Law will love this! I get to hm he says hello and says my name and winks at me. He knew what my name was short for, and he knew that I didn't like being called my full name as it felt as if I was being told off! He signed my autograph and gave me another wink as I turned away.

So autographs collected on the saturday, and yes I managed to ask one of the wierdest questions to two of the cast members.

Me: I hope I don't offed anyone with this question, but we (meaning the 1200 people in the room) Have all seen the out takes from the show and I wondered if you had been in the vicinity when Jensen or Jared (the leading men) have broken wind?

The 1200 people broke into fits of laughter, and I held my face in my hands......but, this is the response caught on video, you can just hear me asking if I should go home, and saying thankyou at the end.

Sterling and Jim's response to my question.

If you read the review of the convention onf the supernatural tv website she actually mentions my question!!

Sunday was spent watching all of the cast talks from the 3rd row wooohoooo! It was so interesting to hear the tricks of the tv trade, and their own experiences whilst filming the show. Along with their personal opinions of things.

In closure I loved every minute of it. I have since watched the episode finale and can really appreciate how well the people act, considering I have now met some of them!

Thankyou Emily, if it wasn't for you I would have been a lost soul.

And Sis In Law, geeks rule! Pfffft.

Hugs and love

I'm a Baby Faced Guitar Hero!

Still on the topic of Lush products, I asked my Mum to get me theBaby Face cleansig bar and the Soft Coer massage bar as recommended by Holli.

I read the reviews on both products, and decided on my own method of using the Baby Face bar. Run a sink of hot water, rinse your face so it is damp, dry hands! Massage Bay Face bar all over face (with dry hands so they don't get sticky, and use up more of the bar than is necessary!) put bar down. Massage face and rub in the cleanser. Put a face flannel into the sink and use it to wipe of cleanser thoroughly. It removes make up and mascara so quickly and thoroughly it is amazing! I then dry my hands, and gently quickly massage face again with the cleanser, and lightly wipe it off with the flannel. This ensures your skin isn't over clogged, but is left with the residue of the bar to work it's moisturising magic.

I have always suffered with my skin allergy on my face. One single tiny spot soon becomes a three month home for my allergy. It takes forever to clear it using my cream, and my cream is steroid based which isn't good to use too often. Never ending circle of allergy, cream, allergy cream, until it decides to move elsewhere on my face.

BUT.......within three days of using the cleanser my Mum noticed a difference! and within a week....all signs of my allergy has gone! Now that's what I call magic.

People at work have commented on how pretty I look now that I am wearing make up, and it's all down to this tiny bar of cleanser. I can confidently wear make up to work, knowing that a, it wont affect my allergy, and b, I can remove it simply and thoroughly without having to rub my face raw with baby wipes!

I give this product a 10/10 and would recommend it to anyone. I wouldn't recommend Lush's way of using it though. Cotton wool pads would simply stick to the bar, and then stick to your face.

On to the Soft Coer massage bar, and no this isn't X rated!

Holli recomended using it like a perfume, most importantly keep the bag it comes in! I slide it to the botom of the bag, hold the bag around it to use it. It is designed to completely melt in the hands and this stops that from happening. Anyway, I rub a little bit behind my ears, in the pulse point on my inner elbow/arm, down to my wrists, and behinf my knee's.

It smells heavenly, and people at work have been asking me what my new perfume is as it smells gorgeous!

Thank you Holli!, and I hope you don't think I am copying you too much. It's just knowing that these products are completely natural with no chemicals, and hearing such good reports from you, I simply had to try them.

I also used another of my birthday bath bombs.
The Haagen Bath bomb I have to say it took well over fifteen minutes to fully disolve! The water was filled with a raspbery ripple effect cream on the top, and was scented with mint chocolate. My skin was smooth ans silky afterwards, but I didn't smell as wonderful as after the S*x Bomb. I'd give that one a 10/10 and the Haagen bath a 7/10. Mainly because of the disolve time. I would recomend puting it in the bath when it is a third run. NOT when it is completely run and at your desired temperature.

Anyway, I still have the Champagne Supernova to go, and Mum and I are going into town on Monday to visit the store.

I have made a list, and I will try my best to stick to it. I have on the list five more bath bombs. A flying fox temple balm (again recommended by Holli), and a dream time temple balm, and a bath bar soap.

I will let you know if I buy anthing else, which I'm sure I will :)

Hubby came home last weekend with a joint "easter egg" for us. Eggsept it wasn't an easter egg, it was guitar hero 111 for the Nintedo Wii.

Ok so seven hours later I had a sore hand, and was seeing dots before my eyes but it is THE best game ever. I am totally addicted. Simply adore the fact you actually hold a guitar, and have now completed the easy level with three bands!

Last night I managed to complete one song on the next level but boy is it hard!

I give this game a 10/10 both for playability and addictiveness.

I'm off to check my regular web sites.....see you soon!

Birthday Bathday

Ok so my birthday was last week.....but seeing as Monday is one of my days off, and our new snuggly sofa was delivered today I decided to have a pamper bath.

I normally have to be careful as to what I put in my baths, with scars and wounds anything too perfumed is a bit dodgy. I'm ok with natural lavendar, soooo, I splashed out, or should that be bombed out with one of my presents off my Mum.

Holli had given me the idea a while back to try some Lush products. Namely the Henna (caca) rouge bar. When I was younger I was lucky enough to have strawberry blonde hair. It was a ritual once every few months for my Mum, my sister and I to "Henna" my hair. Given the fact it was long enough for me to sit on at the time it was quite a task. Back in those days you could buy pots of henna for hair, you wash your hair, then refill the bath with really hot water. Slap on the henna, comb it through, and sit with hot towels on your head. As soon as one towel cools another was dunked in the steaming hot bath and wrapped round my head. It was bliss and the henna really brought out the red in my hair, and conditioned it like nobody's business.

So......Holli mentions a Henna bar and I'm straight on the Lush website. Should I try it or shouldn't I? Mum then mentioned that there was a Lush shop in our own town and I was gobsmacked!

For my Birthday my Mum gave me a Henna bar!! wooohooo, and......set of three bath bombs.

Anyway today I thought I would give it a go. I ran my piping hot bath, plugged in the cd player (not into the bath d'ohh) with the new Nickleback cd in it, got into the bath and let the S*x bomb do it's work.

Instantly the bath turned a deep marshmallow pink, the bomb fizzed, the smell filled the room and I was enveloped in clouds of pink marshmallow, feather, bubblegum loveliness.

I soaked whilst listening to my music, made sure I rubbed the lovely water all over, and came out smelling absolutely wonderful, and my skin is adorably soft!!

I can't wait to try the other two, and maybe get some more?

My Henna bar is in the fridge, I need to work up the confidence to use it. I have to do a strand test 1st to check my hair will be ok, then I need to decide whether to leave the clingfilm on for four or six hours! Holli? any suggestions lol.

Anyway, out of the bath, and into Clever Crafting Friends gorgeous birthday present for me. A lovely pair of marshmallow pink jim jams (pyjama's) that I just happen to have matching socks for! I'm in a land of pinkness. From feather bubblegum marshmallow baths to a lovely new fresh pink pair of pj's. What more could a girl ask for?

I have to say I was spoilt by everyone for my birthday. I got my drum kit off hubby yeeeehahhhh! And yes I can play!. My pj's from CCF, Navie Wifey got me the cutest ornament doggies :) SA at work gave me a lovely deep pink crysanthemum plant and an adorable pink alien. Mum gave me the Lush goodies, a kilner jar filled with sweets in the shape of a pig and a unique hand made bangle with a heart and an aqaumarine on it. As I say.....spoilt rotten.

I had tonnes of cards, and a few messages on facebook, which I am now addicted to as well.

This Friday I am going to visit College Buddy, and then the Friday after I will take a trip into town and go into the Lush shop. So far on my wish list I have

The Babyface cleanser as recommended by Holli. and, The Snake Oil Scalp Massage bar, I suffer badly with my allergy, and now it's even in my hairline, I can hardly put my cream there can I? also, definately two of the temple balms, probably the dream time and whoosh, and as recently recommended by Holli, a Soft Coer Massage bar. Holli recommends "I put a dab on my chest, wrists and anywhere else I might like fragrance or shine. After that, I just want to eat my own skin. The smell is outrageously good. I DARE you to find something on earth that smells better" Ok, I'm up for the dare, and anything that smells like milk chocolate and honey, honey, cocoa and natural melty butters I'll try.

After all, last years present from CCF was choccy based bath and shower products and they are good enough to eat.

Whew, how many links in one post?

And.....I think I'm finally back on blogging track. Recently my mind has been doing a lot of wandering, it still does, and always will, but not as much. I could only have typed about sadness, and loss, and I didn't want people to read that. Whisky is back in the land of pink fluffiness, there will be some absences. Everyone has sad days, but for now you'll have to put up with me more often :)

Love and hugs

I've been tagged :)

I think Aly has realised that my blogging days are dwindling and has given me the nudge I need to do a long await post. Thankyou hunny!!

Anyway, when you are tagged in blogworld, you simply have to answer the questions, and not just answer them any old way, you have to be honest, so here goes.......

The rules of this tag:
A: The rules are posted at the beginning
B: Answer the questions about yourself
C: Tag people, let them know in a comment on their blogs that they have been tagged.

What were you doing 10 yrs ago?

Ten years ago I was 27, and I believe was working at my last job. I think at that point I was reasonably healthy and was loving the job until things changed. I had had my ileostomy by then, and I think it's about this time that the dreaded abscesses started rearing their heads. This would lead to a five month stay in the hospital......oh the joys. BUT....at this job I made two very important and precious friends. In no order, Clever Crafting Friend, and Navy Wifie.

Snacks I enjoy:

I simply adore Tesco's own cheese twists. Biscuits that are cheesy but not over so, and are easy to eat whilst reading a book.

I also permanently have sweets and chocolates in the house. For my birthday my Mum gave me a huuuuge glass jar in the shape of a pig, this is filled with sweets from my past, and present. Jelly beans, flying saucers, cola bottles, banana's, jelly snakes, fried eggs, an all the goodies I love.

Five things on my to-do list today:

Visit Clever Crafting Friend :)

Have a bath, possible with one of the Lush bath bombs my Mum got me for my birthday!

Sit up and wait for hubby, he has been in Portugal all week for work, so no, he wasn't here for my birthday :(

Play on the Nintendo Wii. I'm still absolutely addicted to tennis, I have made three of my Mii's (individual characters you make and dress yourself) professionals now, and I can even play sitting down. Who needs to stand up and expend valuable energy!
Copy the new Nickleback cd for SIL and one of my colleagues at work.....it's a brill cd!!

Things I would do if I became a billionaire:

I would pay off all of my friends and families mortgages, yes I stole this idea off Navy Wifie, I would give money to local charities, I would buy a second home in the town we love in Mallorca. I would buy myself one of the new Aston Martins as seen in the new James Bond adverts, and whatever car hubby wants. I would have a loft extension built. I would set up a trust fund for Little Miss Pink and Little Miss Purple. The rest, I would let the interest build up, and have direct debits coming out regularly for the charities.

3 bad habits:

I have a base metal allergy on my skin....and I tend to overdo it with the cream. So much so that when a friend came to visit me on Monday night I looked as if a meringue had exploded all over my chin!

I can get snappy when things get noisy. I hate unnecessary noise! If I am watching a tv programme and hubby is putting the washing up away with the door open I go mental! When I am at work, if people are talking across me whilst I am on the phone I'm sure I turn into the incredible hulk, either that or the look I give them insinuates murder and they are quiet LOL

I have to stick to my routines. I don't start work until 8.45 am, so why do I get there at 7.40am? I HAVE to get up, have my toast, then my milky coffee and go on the internet on my days off work. If this routine is disturbed, even by my toast burning I feel out of kilter all day!

5 places I have lived:

I have always lived in the area that I live in now....but I was lucky enough to be brought up in pub's and have therefore lived in some truly amazing places. One pub,I spent my young childhood, and met my 1st ghost Charlie. Him and I would sit in the cellar talking for ages. My Dad would come down to look for me, and there I would be, sat on a pile of four barells.....now how does a five year old get that high? Charlie helped me. He also saved me on the cellar steps. I followed Dad down and he told me to avoid the one step that was due to be repaired. I didn't and felt a hand move my foot to the next step down. I asked Dad if it was him......he was right at the other side of the cellar no where near me.

Another pub had a not so nice ghost. She had died tragically whist on the phone. You could feel her walk in the room and it went ice cold. Her father still worked at the pub as the gardener, and every year he would put random flower bulbs in the rockery. I watched him! A bag of mixed bulbs, mixed flowers, mixed colours and e threw them in and covered them in soil. SO how, every year on the anniversary of her death, did they come up in color order spelling her name?

I think my favourite place was the pub I met hubby in. He was a barman, and I didn't even acknowledge him for a year. I was "in lurrrrve" with my teenage blonde hunk, then found out he was cheating one me. he next night, hubby before he was hubby, talked me through it, he helped me cry, and told me I would be fine. Within 3 weeks we were seeing each other and I have never looked back. I have since found out from his Mum, that as soon as he began working at the pub he fancied me! He watched me from a distance, going out with a excuse the language, "jerk".....and we ended up together. Rebound? No way.

I think that's enough, believe me my childhood homes we amazing....I could talk all day!

Things people don’t know about me:

I have always known that even though I have my life time disease and all that it throws at me, endless operations and scars, pain and annoyance, I have always known it is for a reason. I don't know what reason, but I know this and that is what keeps me going.

I AM going to write a book or two. I have nearly finished my children's novel I will print it off and start sending it to publishers. It has a sequel, but that will be written after I have written my adult novel. I don't mean adult x rated d'ohh. I mean adult reading as in psychological thriller, murder, mystery and maybe a little supernatural thrown in for good measure.

I adore rock music. People assume I am a pop lover, take that, boyzone, etc and yes I do like all music. My all time heroine is Karen Carpenter....but I also love Nickleback, Creed, and anything that isn't too heavy a rock sound. Evanescence, Within Temptation, music that means something and tells a story.

I tag:
Gert Lush

I still check your blog often, and haven't forgotten about you :)

I hope you enjoyed my deliving into myself. Sounds a bit odd lol.

Anyway, that was one looooong post :)

Love and hugs

February Already???

I simply cannot believe where the time has gone, before we know it another year will be gone.

Sorry for my absence, so much has been going on, and I had so many wonderful gifts for Christmas that my time is spent.....well doing other things.

Here's a brief run down. THE most wonderful hair straighteners, which have cut my hair straightening time in half, improved the straightness of my hair so that it actually looks straight instead of half straightend....and heat up in seconds!

A sat nav for my car. Which of course has had me scouring the web for voices to add to it, so far Michael Caine is the favourite. You have reached your destination, and notta lotta people know that. This has given me the chance to go further afield, ok so I haven't as yet, but I will need to in the future, but more of that later!

Not exactly a Christmas present for me, more of an impulse share present from hubby, we now have a Nintendo WII games console. So everynight as soon as I get home, or every day if I'm not at work, I spend at least an hour playing tennis. At first I would be out of breath and worn out....now I'm nearly up yo pro level and hardly shed a breath! I adore the bowling, and am getting to grips with the baseball.

We have a few games, wii sports, golden compass, the sims castaway, wii play to get an extra remote, desktop driving which I simply cannot do, and High School Musical sing it, complete with microphone and Whisky singing away quite happily, but annoyed that the american actresses in the films have such high voices!

I have also started writing. Not my psychological thriller, murder mystery phorensic supernatural book. But, a childrens novel that I have had in my head since I was about ten years old. My Sis In Law has read the first chapter to Little Miss Pink and Little Miss Purple and they loved it.....I'm on chapter nine now and WILL finish it soon, then copyright it and start posting to publishers.

As you can see time filled to the brim. I even said to hubby that I was so lucky, with him being away most of the week I have soooo much choice, what to do, play the WII, play with the sat nav, write some more of the novel? The he comes home with my early birthday present!!!

Oh Joy of joys!

I have always worshipped, loved and adored Karen Carpenter. She has been my heroine since I was introduced to her music aged twelve. THE most amazing voice, incredible song writing talent, and she could play the drums. SInce then I managed the singing, although not to her ability, but someone once told me I sounded like a cross between Patsy Cline and Karen Carpenter! But, my reaction was COUNTRY MUSIC Arrrrgh! I should've listened and taken the chance. But hey ho.

Anyway.....back to the birthday present. Hubby led me to the boot of the car where there was the largest box ever. From my view I immediately thought OH NO not another television.....then he lifted it out. A flat screen tv it was NOT!

I am now the proudest owner of my very own drum kit!

And.....the best thing ever, I can play. Ok only a little bit, but it feels "homely" to be sat there sticks in hand tapping out a beat. I am following lessons on you rube, and I can pick them up within half an hour. Someone I was talking to last week said for me to be able to do that I must be anatural.

All I need now is a male who can play the keyboards, and we have a Carpenters Tribute act! Well.....I'd better learn the drums properly first!

So now, time choices, write novel, check blogs, play wii, check e mails, work, eat sleep, play with sat nav, play with Nintendo ds, write novel, read, eat sleep, PLAY WITH DRUM KIT.

Blogging.......I let it slip, sorry.

But I will try and be more proactive.

And that leads me nocely to my promotion at work!

I have been promoted, after being interviewed by my own manager, and have extra responsibilities. I have been given the chance to build a better relationship with the customers, meeting up with them once every three to six months, hence the sat nav will come in handy as they are all over the country! and put my proactivity skills to good use.

Yayyyy!!!!!

So far 2008 is a rockin!

Love n hugs to everyone
and thankyou for still popping by to check on me, and the comments, it means a lot.

F...F....F...Freezing!

Since Thursday we have had no hot water and no heating. The boiler man came and we needed a new pump so it should be fitted today. As soon as it's done the heating will be turned up to the max, a hot bath will be ran and I will soak up the warmth.

Thankfully Mum let me use her facilities on Saturday and I had lovely bath and washed my hair. It did take me nearly an hour to dry and straighten it, but if you're reading Mum....Thankyou!

Yesterday was was spent with Sis In Law, Mr Bleach, Little Miss Purple and Little Miss Pink. A lovely roast dinner, crafts, walking, snuggles and secrets.

No doubt Sis In Law found my secret, and don't go blaming the girls, and I bet it was a shock ;)

Our neighbours are still on top form, making a much noise as possible as early in the mornig as possible. No Lie in's for me :(

So I'm tired.....I'm cold, but I'll carry on regardless. I've got nothing to complain about really.

Work has been extremely busy, one person down and we are realy feeling the strain, but! we have pulled together as a team of three and made it work. One of our three even noticed the difference in the team now that the other person has left. It's much nicer, we all work together, and more importantly we all care about each other. He admitted it made him want to work harder so he could help us the way we are helping him. We are team!

Anyway......I'll try and blog more regularly, I didn't want people to think I was being disrespectful in any way. I hope you are all well, thankyou for sticking by me and reading my here and there posts.

Responsibilityyyyyyy!!!!

Yesterday at work my dream came true! A few times now I have been asked to "supervise" in the absence of our team leader, much to the diasgruntlement of some people (persons non plural). Boss S says I have done well.

Well......yesterday I was asked to train a new person on one of our most difficult tasks/systems. It went well, we both enjoyed it, and the lady I trained said she really enjoyed it!

I think I'm a little bud slowly beginning to come into bloom, and I love it!

The new/old Whisky is finally back in the forefront, and almost on the top of the ladder that two years ago I was peering up at with trepidation.

Watch out guys..............here I come!!!

Enough Already!!!

Ok, so last week at work was ermmmmm manic to say the least. I've started doing the strangest things. We have doody headsets which enable us to walk around the office, to the fax machines or filing station and still answer calls, or be talking to customers. It's cool, and I feel like a robotic Whisky. But....I'm getting confuddled at times. I have to swap ears occasionally, as now I'm wearing glasses full time they tend to dig in with the head set.

To answer a call on the head set you need to press a small button that is situated over your ear (but on the headset, get it?). So swap ears, go to answer call, wrong ear! There's me, pressing my ear instead of the button on the headset! D'oooh.

I get it, press the button, the hand set on the phone doesn't lift up immediately so I press the button again, just as the head set lifts up and cut off the call. Double D'oooh.

I'm speaking to a customer, they say good bye, and instead of pressing said button on headset I press F1 on the computer keyboard to go back a screen. Triple D'oooh.

Or, if I need to call someone I dial there number on my ginormous calculator and wonder why the phone isn't ringing!!

Oh, and I forgot to mention, in my confusion I even managed to staple my finger. Yes......I mean actually put a staple in my finger. For some reason it didn't fold over like it does on paper, maybe that's because the bone was in the way!!!!

Believe it or not with all of that going on I still manage to take at least one hundred calls a day :) as well as keying or transferring edi orders in multitudes. So much so that in one day last week I rang the bell twice, indicating 20,000.00 of orders. I then tang the bell twice for The Gentleman, and for Supervisor S. Unfortunately we can't add up the amounts over the value of the 10,00. Eg, one of my orders was for 27, and Supervisor S's for 23, therefore it really could have been 5 rings not four. Not four, not fair!!

I read my horoscopes, I love them, as well as Angel cards, Tarot cards and anything slightly psychic. But, I really listen to my horoscopes. (Imagines Sis In Law saying "Here we go" right now).

Well,.....yesterdays horoscope said. You can turn an annoying work colleague into a friend. How's that for accuracy. I will, well I'll try. I am amicable at work. I will never ever ignore someone simply because of their upbringing. I may not enter into personal chit chat with them, but I will engage in work talk. Maybe behind her hard outer spoken words there is a caring person inside. I will make it my challenge to find out, and bring that caring person forward!!!

Or at least point out to her that telling someone that their body clock is ticking away due to their age is not something that should be said if you don't know anything about the person!!

I did however make one of my Whisky slip ups whilst talking to her last week, and I have to add here that I DID apologise profusely afterwards as witnessed by almost the whole office with me red faced.

The conversation went like this.....

S=other person
W= Whisky

S - I need one of your Pipeline orders please.
W - ok, they should be somewhere in here (grabbing my complete section of P orders from my file and starting to flick through them)
W- Someone's been in my filing, it's all messed up!
S - Well it wasn't me I only looked in the B's earlier.
W- No, I know it wasn't you, but look...... (holding up an order that in no way shape or form belonged in the letter P section and stating loudly)

There's no F in P's!!!!

Now say that to yourself out loud, come one I dare you.....get it......get it?!

CLICK!

I as I mentioned, immediately went into apologetic mode.

W- Oh My, I'm soooooo sorry, I really didn't mean that to sound how it did. I would never swear at anyone. Oh I'm sooooo sorry!!

S- (Laughing) (Me laughing nervously and getting redder and redder) It's fine, don't worry, at least we can laugh about it!

I then notice that most of the sales team is looking at me, trying to work out whether it was a deliberate mistake or not. They notice how embarrassed I am and work out it was a mistake. I get looks that indicate to me, "You couldn't have planned that any better" or "you go girl!" and we all fall about laughing.

At least it made me realise this person has a sense of humour.....and I swear, I will find the good in her and bring it forward. That is my mission.

This week is going to be absolutely manic. If want to see hubby at all in the next two weeks, including a bank holiday, I have to drive up to Liverpool. Hello...this is me that's only ever driven on the smallest motorway in the UK!!! That's a two hour drive on major motorways!

Either I drive up to him for a long weekend, or I travel on the train. Do I prefer driving in the safety of my own car, in my own speed, or travelling on a vehicle I have no control over with gawd knows how many other people on board? Hmmmm methinks the car with the mp3 blaring loudly chain smoking all the way to curb the nerves whilst listening to hubby's Tom Tom.

Wish me luck!

So, Monday, shopping with Mum :) Tuesday through to Thursday work full time. Friday, lie in, pack, and drive for two hours. SPend weekend up until Monday with Hubby and his work colleagues, oh yeah, he is working by the way. All the more time for me to sleep in the hotel room yessssssss.

Drive home, and chill before going back to work on Tuesday.

Scared? Who me? Nooooo

Absolutely terrified!!!!!!!!!!

Love and hugs, and remember, there's no F in P's!!!!

Specs Appeal!

Yayyyyy! I got my new specs. Two lovely pairs of pink and purple glasses. One with circles on the arms, and one with diamante's! Everyone, so far, has agreed they suit me :) And, I can see better, which I guess is the whole point.....d'ohhh.

Friday's visit to Clever Crafting Friend was wonderful. I finally gave her her belated birthday presents, and she loved them. I'm glad I took the time to find the little present that was in the card :)

Hubby home, chinese for dinner, snuggle and bed. Then Saturday, collect glasses yessssss! Then collect Whisky's new car!!! Yessssss! I drove it from the garage to Sis In Law's. Noticing on the way out that someone was already looking at my ickle purple car! Panniccc!

Little Miss Pink and Little Miss Purple had their snuggles, and we played just for a few minutes. Dangly earrings prove that someone is growing up fast. I just feel honoured to be able to share a little part in their growing older :)

Over to Mum and Dad's to show them my new bright red shiny car. Back home, and exhausted. I had a lie down, back down in time for Dancing On Ice, which I didn't even watch. Dinner, more snuggles, and a late night for me.

A sound woke me up at 4am. To me it sounded exactly like the lock being put down on the front door. I came downstairs as bold as brass in only my underwear to check for burglars. Nothing. Wide awake I had a cold drink and a cigarette, then back up to bed, wondering exactly what I would have done if there was a burglar. Hubby would of course have slept through it. Would I have hit the panic alarm by the front door? Would I have picked up the nearest heavy object as a weapon, or would I have run upstairs howling like a banshee!

No doubt, on seeing me, the burglar would have been the one howling like a banshee as he was running down the street! After all, I do tend to look a little like medusa when I first wake up.

Awake, breakfast, and hubby is on the phone to Mr Bleach trying to sort out our joint holiday. We will do it! I am determined to be lying on a beach with Sis In Law, cocktail in hand, as the "boys" entertain the girls by building intricate sandcastles. I have visions of hubby doing the simplest blob of sand and saying it is a work of art, while his brother is desperately trying to get the sand out of the sandcastles doorway, as it looks like dust! Oh joy. We are going to have a blast.

One rule while we are away! No hand held vacuum cleaners allowed!!!!

Here's to the beginning of another week. One where we don't know what it will bring. Hopefully happiness and smiles :)

Love to all.

Hugs

Silly Slipper Sunday 2

Yes I remembered. It was late last night when I suddenly jumped off the sofa and grabbed the camera, but I remembered. I was going to "choose" a pair of slippers carefully, maybe with a matching pair of pj's, but as I had left it so late I just decided to take a picture of my slipper socks that I was wearing.

Here we have......

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Ten little piggies all cosy and warm in their own piggiefied slipper socks.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting I managed to peel them off my feet just long enough to take a picture to show you the underside, with the magical "sticky bits" that stop you from slipping and sliding on wooden and tiled floors!

So there we have it, Silly Slipper Sunday 2. I promise I will be more organised next weekend!

Friday, and I had to be up at 7am to take my car in for service. My poor ickle purple car was leaving me, and I wasn't sure for how long. We got to the garage, and I immediately jumped out of my car and got to Mechanic C before hubby did. For at least two years now I have been begging for new wheel trims on my car. The front drivers wheel trim looked gross! Rusted and dirty. So....I asked Mechanic C if he would pop me some wheel trims on to make my ickle car look perfect again. He said he would, and I was over the moon.

Hubby dropped me home, and I then started to get nervous. Would my eleven year old car pass it's mot. Would it need endless work to keep it running. I bought my car second hand from my Dad. When they bought it they chose the number plate as it was my house number, so now it is mine, it is MY house number :) Even though my car is eleven years old it still only has 39,000 miles on the clock. Not bad going hey!

My College Buddy came, and we spent ages talking. Me about my "whatever" audition. And her about her trip to another country to see Take That. Yes she goes everywhere, she is a married woman, but she still follows them round the country, and gets to talk to them and have her picture taken with them. This time they were even in a hotel room slap bang opposite Mark OWen, and therefore had full view of his bedroom antics all night! Tutt tutt.

Sis In Law called, College Buddy left, and Sis In Law and I headed into town. It was fun! We hit a couple of shops before our main aim.....Primark. This has to be the best shop in my town. Bargains galore, and trendy ones too. As soon as we walked in the door we spotted short sleeved tee shirts for £1.50 in a variety of colours. Of course I got one in pink and one in purple. SIL I believe got an orange one. We wandered round, SIL better at hunting through rails than me. She ended up with loads of lovely stuff. We both bought the same coat too. A lovely parka style coat, with fur trimmed hood, inner pull string, zip and buttons, and lovely deep pockets for my Avon stuff. I chose black, and I think SIL went for beige, guess how much? £5.00!!!!

We payed up, and walked out of the store grinning. We both agreed there is no better buzz than getting bargains!

We sat and had a cigarette under cover, and I realised we were right by the famous statue that Holli has previously mentioned. I immediately gave SIL my handbag and trotted off with my mobile phone to take come pictures.

One thing I havent mentioned is that at work on Tuesday I had an accident. I was trying to get some sellotape of a holder without the cutting blade in. I pulled down on the sellotape and promptly broke my nail. Not in the usual straight across fashion, but right down the middle of the nail, and across, way deeper than it should be. There was no way I could remove the piece of nail as it would be extremely painful, and bleed! So, my thumb is covered in two plasters. One over the nail, and one around it to keep the plaster on.

The reason for mentioning this, is that when it came to pressing the relevant buttons on my phone to get to the camera I couldn't do it! I kept trying with my index finger, missing the button, going into text messages, alarm clock, everything but the darned camera! Eventually looking as if I needed some sort of tablet I crossed my hands over each other and managed to take a couple of pictures. It wasn't until we had got back to the house that SIL mentioned how stuupid I looked in the town centre trying to operate my mobile phone.

We headed back to the car, got a pack of soft drinks, got to the car and started drinking as we were both really thirsty. There then ensued a burping contest all the way back to my house. How ladylike are we!!

SIL left, and I lay down on the sofa and was awoken by hubby ringing to say he was on his way home. Chinese for tea, tv on, I snuggled up and fell asleep on him. He was under strict instructions to wake me at a certain time. No more 16 hour sleep ins for me! So Saturday morning the phone rings, I pull the duvet over my head and ignore t. It rings again, I jump out of bed panicking, knowing that it must be serious for someone to ring me again. I answer the phone no one there. Phone down and it rings again. It's hubby telling me it's time to get up.....I tell him straight away I am awake and need the toilet....NOW.

Downstairs preparing my breakfast, phone rings again GGGggggggrrrrrrr! It's my Mum making sure I hadn't gone back to bed! Sit on the sofa and just finish my breakfast, and the phone rings again. Thankfully I didn't swear down the phone as it was Mr Bleach, SIL's Hubby.

We were invited to dinner on Sunday, I said I would check with hubby and ring them back later. All I will say is, we had to say no due to the fact hubby had already bought dinner and we had no room in the freezer. Two little princesses were reduced to tears by the fact that their mother was telling them that their Aunty and Uncle didn't want to see them! Cruel SIL!!!!

So here I am......Sunday afternoon. Hubby hasn't yet stopped working on his lap top.....Yaaaaawn. There's me telling everyone weekends are precious, time together etc etc. So much for that!

Avon tomorrow, tonnes to deliver so I may not post until Tuesday.

For now,

Love and hugs

I Managed It.........Just

Wednesday afternoon at work was the usual, still one person down, but nice and busy. The time flew by and it was soon 4.30pm and time for me to go home. Milky coffee, talked to hubby :) and I made myself have an early night in preparation for my full day of work on Thursday.

I must have slept straight through, which I was relieved about, as I had slept poorly at the beginning of the week, as the next thing I knew it was 6.30 and time to get up.

Breakfast, bath, dress, I looked out of the living room window and panicked! I knew that the main road I use to go to work was closed for road works, so I would therefore have to take an alternative and longer route. What I hadn't planned for was that my poor ickle purple car would be covered in thick lumpy frost! You know the kind that is half frost and half frozen snow. The kind that is physically impossible to remove from windows unless you have the muscles of Hulk Hogan!

That was my car.

I quickly made up my flask of milky coffee, donned my coat, hat and gloves, double checked the contents of my handbag. House keys, pen, energy drink x 2, can of coke, flask of milky coffee, and other essential items, and out I went.

Imagine. A 5ft 2" 9 stone weakling scraping superglued frost from her car.

I tried the sideways scrape. Excellent for removing the delicate frost. But useless for the lumpy frost.

The up and down ways scrape. Ok, until you get stuck in a lump and then the shock reverberates up your arm and into your shoulder.

The random pick a spot and scrape it scrape. Again ok until you get to the lumps.

In the end I went for the random whack it scrape. Pick a loose bit and scrape at the rate of roughly 1000 scrapes a minute until you can no longer breath, rest start again.

I ended up, with frost/snow in my shoes, all over my trousers and the arms of my coat, in my hair.....and gawd knows how but up my nose as well!

I got into my car, just about to remove gloves and fasten seat belt. Guess what I had forgot?

The bloomin windscreen!

So....at this point, already feeling as if I have done a full days work, I opted for the cannned de icer, (Sorry to the ozone layer here). I picked up one can.....could I get the lid off it? Could I nuts! Second and larger can lid already off, and away I went.

I sprayed for england, each and every centimetre of the windscreen had a good splattering. Windscreen wipers on........jammed. I lifted them to release them and got a face full of slush mixed with de icer. Sprayed again, and again and again and soon the windscreen was clear! Wooohoooooo!.

Into the car, wet cold gloves removed, rear window nicely defrosted due to the heated window. cigarette out, lighter in hand. Hmmmmmm, is de icer flammable. Is there enough remaining on my finely plucked eyebrows to enable me to burst into flames in my car.....well at least if that happens it will be thoroughly defrosted.

To hell with it. I tentatively lit my lighter, brought it closer to my cigarette, all safe and off I set on my journey.

Sorry if this is a long post, it's about to get longer.

I've always been told by both my Dad and hubby, in icy weather, when the roads are slippy. Play it safe. Drive slowly, and with the car in a higher gear than it needs to be. So......5 miles an hour in 3rd gear worked well until some moron decided to pull out on me. I avoided the natural instinct to slam my foot on the brake, and slightly tapped the brake with my delicate size 6 shoe. Luckily the moron and his car had already passed me as my tail end swerved from side to side down the remainder of the road!

Main roads, ice free, alternative route, and I still got to work with fifteen minutes to spare!

I had been told the day before by my supervisor that if it was icy in the car park I was to ring up to the office and someone would come and get me from my car to the door in safety. the last thing I need is to land on my butt!

I took a risk. Walked along the pebbled gaps in the car park and made it in one piece.

Into work, slaving away until the morning meeting. Always a team meeting on a Thursday morning. it felt good to be there for it :)

At about eleven am I started to fade, and fast. My brain, eyes and fingers were no longer connected. I reached into my bag, pulle out my flask, and took five to drink my milky but strong coffee. I was back on top form and raring to go.

Lunch, in the car chains smoking as they have closed the smoke room, and there is no way I am standing in a bike shed to smoke!

Back into work and it was soon 5 oclock and time to go. Boss S had checked on em all day that I was ok, and I was.

Home, milky coffee, feet up, bath, yes another one! Mum rang to say she had been worried about me all day. I rang Sis In Law and we had a scream!

Tammy had found my blog via the Be Connected website, and also takes part in the Self Portrait Challenge. She had left me a lovely comment, that Sis In Law had read, and clocked on the link to her website. She was reading things out to me from Tammy's website that had us both in stitches. I'm sure Tammy knows that this in in no way ridiculing her site. She just has the most fantastic sense of humour that is down both mine and Sis In Law's street. Now every time I think of Tammy, I think of a woman in a velcro suit!

I've a feeling my garden of friends is soon to have another seed planted :)

On that note, with laughter in the air, I ate my dinner, and headed up to bed. On my way into the bedroom I caught site of myself in the mirror. I looked terrible. I knew I felt tired, but I didn't realised I looked as bad as I did!! Grey completely pale skin, eyes sunken with dark circles underneath them. Scary! That effect after just one full day at work. How the hell did I used to manage five full days. What has happened to my strength! Did Mr R the surgeon remove that when he removed my wounds? I'll have to ask him when I see him in a fortnight.

Yet again, I forgot, not only do I have the Crohn's I also have two other conditions that sap strength from my body. I will fight them and try to gradually build up my energy. Hopefully I will win when I get to three full days. If I don't I will admit defeat, and hope that work will stick by me.

What a day.......what a blog.

Today, after a lovely lie in with no alarm clock I am refreshed and awake. Waiting for hubby's return. To see his smile, to smell his aftershave, hear his voice and most of all, to be wrapped in his arms and hear him tell me he loves me.

I'll blog soon......don't be too scared. LOL.

If you have battle with the lumpy frost.........I hope you win like I did :)

Hugs galore

Wicked Weekend!

My visit to see Clever Crafting Friend was wonderful. We caught up on so much, and it is always lovely to see her, although I am a little worried that she is over doing things. But. I know that she has this in hand, and will look after herself :)

I got home to find hubby had just got back. The tell tale sign being a hot cup of coffee next to him, and him opening his weeks mail. It was so good to see him. We talked about our week, the things that you leave out on the mobile phone as they would just cost too much on the phone bill!

He had fish and chips, and I had a lovely chinese, we snuggled together, and I went to bed happy he was home.

Saturday morning I was awoken by a phone call, thankfully hubby was home from shopping so he answered it. I was under strict instructions to call Sis In Law as soon as I was up. The plan was we were going to hit the shops with the girls to get Little Miss Purple her Nintendogs game. Did any of the three shops we went to have it, did they nuts! We were even told it was being fased out for a rather rubbish version of the game.

Poor Little Miss Purple was distraught, so I told her she could borrow my game until she found one of her own. Home, hubby cooked a lovely steak dinner, and we chilled and snuggled and watched the tv.

Sunday, as arranged by phone calls on Saturday we met up with Chinese friend and her hubby, Sam the dog and V and A his owners. It was a really really nice day. We walked around a local park and talked, and talked and talked. We headed for a village pub, found ourselves a seat in the corner and talked some more. I mentioned I was interested in going to see a spiritualist or a medium again, and mentioned that on my previous reading I had been told I had powers I needed to develope. The next thing I know we are talking about dreams. Chinese friend started to talk about her recurring dream and I stopped her dead in her tracks and said "Royalty". My heart was pounding and my chest felt funny, but I saw her with either a tiara or a crown on her head. She was then as nervous as me, as her dream was her in a what seemed to be a large mansion type house, overlooking the sea. Maybe coincidence.

She carried on talking, and I said "birds". She then freaked out a little, as did V, part of her dream invoved the birds perched on the cliff face, and a painting of a bird in the house. I told her it felt as if she was once a princess who was being forced to marry someone she either didn't know, or didn't like.

We all sat there with goose pimples on our skin!! We then swapped ghost stories, and said we really must have a night together to see if I really do have any powers at all. I'll get the tarot cards out and we can have the chocolate fountain as well :)

I have asked her to send me a picture of something close to her, that I haven't seen yet to try and get a reading from that (hint hint). She hasn't sent it yet!

She also gave me some gorgeous presents. She really spols me! Sweets, a lovely chinese fish ornament, two little handmade rabbits, and some orange mentol cigarettes which are wonderful! Thankfully hubby doesnt like them, but my Mum does!!!

It was such a lovely day, catching up with four wonderful friends. We really need to do it more often, although with hubby being away most week nights, our weekends are precious. But, we can't stay locked up with each other every weekend!!

Back home, with some team work, hubby and I made a lovely stew. He ate, as usual, two platefulls, and then promptly snuggled on me and started snoring through my programmes! I sent him up to bed with lots of love and I'll miss you's, knowing I wont see him again until Friday :(

We spoke last night......I miss him, but I focus on work, and Friday and his return :)

Work this afternoon, then tomorrow afternoon, and then all day on Thursday Aaaaargh! What have I let myself in for!

Anyway, I'll love you and leave you.

Chinese friend, don't forget to send me that picture!!

Love and hugs

Self Portrait Challenge Week 4

Here goes for my second attempt, and hopefully this time, as I am doing a post straight after this one, I will get the link right!!

As I previously mentioned, one of my new years resolutions, was my daily skin care routine. Which I have been sticking to rigorously. Using my exfoiliating wipes on my face, neck and decollatage, and then using Nivea Creme as a moisturisor. So far I think the effects have been wonderful.

Week one of new skin regime.......

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Week two of new skin regime.......

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Week three of new skin regime.....

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

As you can see with pictures one and two, it took me some time to get rid of the pink stains on my hair, but by week three I am seeing a smoother skin, and less facial hair.

I have to add that although this is for the Self Portrait Challenge website, being shy, I wanted to add in a touch of my sense of humour.

I no I stand no chance of being one of the "pick of the weeks". But this is me trying to learn to be adventurous and artistic with the camera.

Appraisal Praise

Yesterday at work I had my appraisal. I raised a few points regarding my return to work, but none were too negative, in fact only one was.....I want my cordless headset back!!!!! Trying to stretch my cord over to the fax trays is ridiculous, and I nearly end up hanging myself in the process.

Anyway, Boss S had made a few point about me. My professionalism, my positive attitude, my bubbliness and sense of humour, my willingness to work, my hardworkingness (if that's a word). How it is a pleasure to have me back etc etc etc. Remember I don't do praise!!! I sat there squirming in my chair. Ok ok enough of the wonder woman stuff, it's what I'm paid to do LOL.

I was supposed to finish at four, but there were just so many orders I jung on to help them enter them. Then I got the orders whipped off me by the team leader, and told to go home!

Home, milky coffee, watched Paul O Grady, and tidied up before Mum comes round today. I changed the bed and did some washing, then settled down to watch Celebrity Big Brother, then a progamme about a shooting at a school in America which I found highly disturbing. Up to bed, then I decided at 1am to do a shopping list so I can do the weekly shop tonight on my way home to give hubby some more time for himself at the weekend. I'm not 100% sure this will happen yet, it depends how I feel when I get out of work.....but at least I thought about it!

Sis In Law rang to catch up on things and invited me out to a girl night. Reflexology, Angel card readings, Indian Head Massage, crystal therapy....and you can buy things there as well......Whisky's idea of heaven!! Just a shame there isn't a spiritualist medium there as well so I could get a reading.

The last one I had was pretty accurate, but that was about 16 years ago. If anyone is willing to come with me to one in my home town, let me know as I would love to go again, and know where there is one!

This morning, tired, reading blogs, and the post drops through the door. Now....not only do I have my new sim with 300 free texts and uk minutes on it.....but I have a new cover for my phone! And guess what...........it's purple!!!! De nuuuuuuhhhhh!

That's another job for hubby at the weekend LOL, along with changing the lightbulb in the hall lamp.

So, here I am, another working week nearly over, and a whole new one set to begin. Next Thursday I will work my first full day in 2 years and six months! I bet at the end of that day I will be a comlete jelly ball of exhaustion.

Tomorrow I visit CCF and hubby will be home. Then a blissful weekend of cuddles and snuggles and someone to tickle my feet at night LOL.

I'll love you and leave you. SIL do you have a copy of High School Musical? The double 2 box set? If you do please may I borrow it for a while? If not.....I might be stumped LOL

Hugs and snuggles for all

Whatever....

Whatever it is I've done it.
Whatever it is I gave it my all.
Whatever it is I think went well.
Whatever it is gave me the chance to show my sense of humour.

Whatever it is, due to signing a confidentiality agreement, will have to remain "whatever".

It began with a train ride, searching, lunching and shopping. The outfit was changed right at the last minute, a dress found by my Mum after I fell in love with a pair of shoes. Was it an omen that they were both "my color"? Was it an omen that the dress fitted me perfectly? Was it an omen that the shoes, even though they were a size four, and I am a size 6 fit me perfectly? Was it an omen that whilst in the cafe having a strong cappucino that hubby and my song was played on the radio? Was it an omen that in the newspaper my Mum read while I was getting changed mentioned "WHATEVER" in my horoscope, and so did the paper I bought on my way home?

So many what if's, and omens? Could it be........

All I can say really is that it was a fun day. We laughed, we walked, we talked, we shopped, we ate.......and my Mum, as always, was my rock when I was trembling like a leaf.

For now "whatever" cannot be revealed. After the end of January maybe it can. By then I will know. But......by then it may be a whole new, bigger and better whatever.

Home, settled in my warm pink fluffy dressing gown, darkness outside, no hubby and the doorbell rings. I peeped round the kitchen door, saw it was the figure of a man, and stood there until he had gone. I dashed into the living room to see if I could see who it was, and which way they had gone. No. I WILL NOT open the door to any unplanned visitors after dark while hubby is away. So, if you know me, if you want to pop round, either text me, ring me, or shout through the door who you are. I'm not letting anyone other than my friends and family see me in my dressing gown!!!

Hubby rang and we talked about our day. Sis In Law rang, and I had to call her back as I was just preparing my tea. We chatted and laughed as always :) I went up to bed with my shot of whisky and my purple teddy, snuggled down and that was it until the alarm clock woke me. I must have been exhausted!

Morning, and yesterday is a pleasant memory, one that will be always in the back of my mind until.........February I guess.

Work today, then home, eat, and sleep some more.

This little Whisky is in a land all of her own.

Love and hugs

Yeeeeehaaawww!!!!

No that's not a piggy impression!

As mentioned yesterday, from Sis In Law and Mr Bleach I received one of my favourite Christmas presents. It was totally unexpected, totally random, totally thought of by Sis In Law, but most importantly, totally me!!

Introducing to you........

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Whisky The Cowgirl blowing you a kiss...and of course it's a PINK HAT!!!!

Once we had left SIL's we went to Tesco on the way home. Throngs of people trying to grab last minute bargains, and there's me wandering round in a pink cowgirl hat :) When I told SIL this, she asked if I had had any "funny" looks. I said, no, people just smiled at me, she told me they WERE funny looks. I think the long hair confidence thing is really kicking in LOL.

Anyway, Little Miss Pink took the following picture. Remember I had been awake for less than twenty minutes, hair not brushed, sleep not yet removed from eyes, anyway, do I look like a zombie or quite cute, you decide?

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Cheekbone definition or what?!

Holli, I got a PINK hat!!!, but it's not the same as the one you got from Kiki.....did you ask her if she is selling them yet? Hint Hint.

Anyway, as mentioned yesterday we went to SIL's birthday party, and yes, I wore my pink hat. When I went to my Mum and Dad's, yes I wore my Pink hat. It is on top of the coats at the bottom of the stairs, and as far as I am concerned, as I put my coat on, pick up my handbag, and put on my shoes.....before I leave the house, the hat will go on!

It looks especially good when I am wearing my pink dressing gown and matching slipper socks from Ma In Law.....I look soooo......PINK!!

Yes, I'm a purple freak, my car is purple, my bedroom is purple, and the majority of my tops are purple....but pink is slowly becoming the new purple. In fact from this day forward, let it be known that there is no longer pink and purple....just "piurple". Schluurple Piurple in fact.

SIL sent me numerous pictures, of course I will not show any of the girls. But one of them did remind me of the film "The Shining", just minus the axe. But I can't put the picture up because hubby is Blog shy :)

So tomorrow the girls descend on us for their first overnight stay :) We now have, in readiness, Nuttella, raspberry jam, a pink Nintendo, and hubby and I. I think that's all we need for a happy party. Fingers crossed all goes well.

May I take this opportunity to wish you all a

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Stay safe if you are using fireworks. Especially in the UK as we are due for some mega storms, and possible hurricanes!!

Should old acquaintance be forgot and never.............

Hugs, handshakes and new years kisses for all

Spoilt Whisky, And My Man Has A Civil Partnership!!!

Well, it's five days since I've posted, and soooo much has happened. Up early on Christmas morning, having laid the table ready for dinner, and prepared all of the veggies ready for Mum and Dad coming for dinner. Had breakfast, and then hubby and I opened our presents from each other in the conservatory.

I gave hubby his presents first, knowing as always, that what I gave him was little but thoughtful. Sure enough in he walks with boxes and packages galore. Choccies, dvd's and cd's, even a Robbie Williams karaoke cd!! Pyjama's and clothes, the Nintendo Browser I so desperately wanted. It means I can (hopefully) go online on my Nintendo ds!. And, a new doorbell :)

With hubby being away so often, if I am in the conservatory I can't hear the doorbell, so I had mentioned we should get a portable one, that way if someone is at the door I know! It's a bit spooky though, it plays the tunes, but also has a blue eye shape on the front that flashes! It looks like Big Brother is watching me!

Hubby's Mum and Dad came round, a little later than planned, therefore meaning we were going to delay picking up my Mum and Dad. We swapped presents with them. They bought me the snuggliest dressing gown ever, with matching slipper socks....and it's pink!!

Hubby went off to get my parents, and soon the house was full of laughter, cooking, washing up, and celebration. The whole idea of us inviting Mum and Dad round, was so that Mum didn't have to cook.....but within minutes she was in the kitchen helping hubby do the dinner, and washing up!

The meal was lovely, we were all stuffed so we left the table and sat on the sofa talking. I relayed some of my Spanish from my new spanish dictionary from hubby. I played some music, then we finally had our Christmas pudding, sat on the sofa again to watch Dr who, and hubby promptly falls asleep and starts snoring!

We woke him up in time for Vicar of Dibley, he promptly asked what time was Dr Who on!! Typical after dinner snoozer bless him.

Hubby went up to bed, and Mum and Dad and I chatted for a while. We all went upstairs and slept like logs.

Morning, and yes, hubby had been snoring, apparently so had Dad, and so had Mum! Oh Joy! A quick breakfast and off to Sis In Law M's. The boys loved their presents, and Pirates of the Caribbean cannon balls were fired fiercely.

We headed off to Sis In Law and Mr Bleaches, but hubby decided we really should visit Sis In Law D as well. Popped in on the family full of illness and dropped off their presents. They gave us Little Miss Pink, and Little Miss Purple's presents, and we finally headed off to the house of fun :)

Greeted as always with open arms, snuggles and kisses. A gorgeous dinner, a few glasses of wine, presents opened. I am waiting (hint hint) for a picture of me wearing one of my favourite presents. As soon as I have it I will put it on the blog. It's special, it's me, it's something pink, unusual, and since Boxing day I have lived in it!

We popped next door the Sis In Law's neighbours to help her celebrate her birthday, but Little Miss Pink wasn't well at all. SIL, LMP and I went back to the house. Poorly one in bed, we sat munching, painting nails and chatting until the boys came home. Hubby tucked up on the sofa, snug as a bug in a rug, everyone in bed, and the next thing I knew it was late morning and I was awoken to the sound of "wakey wakey" from Little Miss Pink. I automatically rub my eyes on waking, the next thing I knew, LMP had dashed into her bedroom and gave me cherished Pink Teddy as she thought I was crying!!

Milky coffee, a cigarette and some toast later, SIL caught me out yet again. We went home me convinced that hubby had had turkey and stuffing sandwiches for breakfast, and was a budding artist!!

The 28th, and I was planning a lie in, but the Avon delivery arrived at 9am. Hubby was at my Mum and Dad's fitting their Polycool, I went round, delivered Mum's Avon, and we went to Morrisons and Tesco. Got home, had a lovely bath and off to Sis In Law's to celebrate her birthday!!

It was a lovely night. Most of her neighbours are so nice! Especially J who intrigued hubby and I with her stories of travelling the world as an air hostess. Little Miss Purple made a mad dash for her pj's and toothbrush thinking she was coming home with us.......no, that's this weekend.

Home, dressing gown on, hubby to bed, and me watching Dracula, on my own in the dark.

Hubby was under strict instructions to wake me at a certain time, but he left me two hours longer in bed!

Yesterday I heard the news that my man, John Barrowman, had joined his partner in a civil ceremony. Yes I was disappointed. But, I wish them every happiness.

Congratulations to......Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting John Barrowman and

But........Whisky can still dream ;)

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.

Hugs galore

I'm Dreaming Of A Pink Christmas

Holli's most recent post just about sums up exactly how Christmas should be. It should be all about the giving and not the receiving. SHaring, not being selfish. Thinking about others first, not yourself. Well said Holli, now all we need over here is a Target store!! We have the Starbuck's.....so we're getting there ;)

I had the funniest conversations with my Mum yesterday. Both her and Dad, and hubby and I have ordered a product. It's called Polycool. Basically, if you have a polyprop roof in your extensions/conservatory, (the sort of roog made of clear grooved plastic rather than glass) you can insert this into the grooves. It reflects the heat of the sun away from the roof in the summer, therefore keeping cooler. And in the winter it reflects the heat from within the room back into the room, therefore keeping it warmer.

Anyway, hubby was fitting our yesterday....he's just finished it today. I rang my Mum for another reason, and was telling her "how hubby had a long yellow thing, how he lubricated the hole first, punched a hole in the end, inserted the yellow pole in the hole, which could be a bit of a tight fit, then how he pulled it back out again quite easily". My Mum was in fits of laughter at the other end of the phone, and she knew what I was talking about. She said I should have chosen my words a bit more carefully! She also told me that if hubby was a) having to use lubricant, b) having to punch a hole in the end and c) it was yellow, he needed to get himself to the doctors quickly!

My Mum has such a dirty mind Tutt Tutt. But then again so do I. There we were laughing away, and all the time hubby is looking at me from outside wondering what I'm laughing at. He then picked up his tin of lubricant and waved it at me grinning. He had guessed! What a laugh!

We did notice last night how well it reflects the light back into the room from the one light fitting we have in there. But today, now it's finished, because it's such a grim grey day outside the roo looks quite dark.

Hopefully tonight we will feel the benefit of the heat, and in the summer we will be cooler :)

As it was the final of "Strictly come dancing" last night I dared hubby to ring Sis In Law, knowing that she would refuse to answer the phone and that Mr Bleach would have to answer it. They had a bit of a chat, and hubby told me that SIL would call back after it had finished.

Sure enough the phone rang. What I didn't realise was, that hubby and Mr Bleach had plotted together. They had told SIL that it was her Mum in Germany that had called. So, she was all set to ring her Mum at what would have been 11.15pm over there, and probably wake her up in the process. Luckily SIL realised that Mr Bleach was speaking English, which her Mum may not have understood, and checked the answer machine as it had recorded the start of the conversation. Thankfully she rang us and not her Mum. I've promised to call her on Christmas day, I won't disclose why.....but it might be a helpful phone call ;)

So here I am, excited about tomorrow being Christmas Day. Excited that my parents will be here for dinner, and staying the night. Knowing that we will have fun, and of course stand up and solute the Queen during her speech (not!).

So today, it will be peeling sprouts, preparing cauliflower cheese, carrots, parsnips, potatoes, swede etc. That reminds me I must defrost the prawns too!!

For the first time in many years I have wrapped most of the Christmas presents. Of course the girls presents have to be pink. So I thought I'd share.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Pink and Purple presents for Mum and Dad.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting close up of one pf the presents.

And finally a girl has to have pink and purple shoe's.........

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting and here, they are on a Christmas card from Navie Wifey :)

I'm not singling out any Christmas cards here deliberately, as they have all been gorgeous. It's just that this fitted in with the pink theme for today :)

Sorry if the pictures aren't very clear, like I said, it's a bit of a dark and grim day today :(

As always I will leave a mince pie and a drink out for Santa, and a carrot for the reindeer on the fireplace tonight.

May I take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas, and a Happy and Prosperous 2007.

Lots of Christmas love and hugs
